conversation
Tell us what you are building, defending or certifying. We will tell you what we would look at first, what it would take, and whether you need us at all.
How to reach us
Email is the fastest route. Everything starts with a scoping conversation — there is no charge for it, and no obligation at the end of it.
If you have a live incident
Say so in the subject line. Before you write, isolate affected systems from the network rather than powering them off, stop rebuilding or wiping anything, and preserve logs before they rotate. The incident response playbook sets out the first hour in detail.
If you are scoping an assessment
The more of the following you can include, the more precisely we can answer:
- What the system is and what it does for your business.
- Roughly what is in scope — applications, APIs, IP ranges, cloud tenants, number of user roles.
- Whether testing would run against production or a staging mirror.
- Any deadline driving the work: a customer requirement, an audit date, a launch.
- Whether a report has to satisfy a specific standard or a specific third party.
Not sure about any of that? Say so — working it out is part of the scoping call. Our guide to scoping a penetration test covers the same ground in more depth, including the questions worth asking us in return.
If you are answering a questionnaire or an audit finding
Send the question you have been asked, in the words it was asked in. Half of these situations are resolved by explaining what you already do; the other half are a genuine gap worth fixing properly.

Response
Scoping enquiries are normally answered within one working day. Live incident enquiries take priority over everything else.

Common questions
Is the first conversation chargeable?
No. Scoping conversations are free and carry no obligation. We would rather spend an hour establishing that an engagement is the wrong shape than sell you the wrong engagement. If what you need is outside what we do, we will say so.
Will you sign an NDA before we discuss details?
Yes, routinely, and before any technical detail is exchanged if you prefer. We can work from your NDA or provide one. Every engagement is in any case governed by a written agreement covering confidentiality, data handling and rules of engagement.
How quickly can work start?
Lead time depends on scope and current commitments, and we will give you a firm date rather than an optimistic one. Live incident work takes priority over scheduled assessment work — if you are in an incident, say so immediately rather than waiting for a reply to a general enquiry.
Do you work with clients outside the UK?
Yes. SecIQ serves clients across EMEA and the United States, and most work is delivered remotely. Where an engagement requires being on site — internal network testing, physical assessment, in-person training — that is agreed and scheduled during scoping.
