Privacy and
cookie notice

What this website collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to make us stop. Written to be read rather than to be defensible.

In short

This website sets no cookies until you accept them, uses no advertising or cross-site tracking, and collects no personal data unless you email us. If you decline analytics, nothing is loaded and nothing is sent. If you accept, we use Google Analytics with advertising features switched off to see which pages are read.

Who we are

SecIQ is the data controller for this website and for enquiries sent to us. Our registered office is 18 Manor Courtyard, First Floor, Hughenden Avenue, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP13 5RE, England. For anything in this notice, including a request to exercise your rights, email [email protected].

This notice covers the public website only. Data handling within a client engagement is governed by the written agreement for that engagement, which sets out confidentiality, evidence handling and retention separately.

Cookies and analytics

No analytics cookies are set, and no request is made to any analytics provider, unless and until you accept them. This is deliberate: consent mode alone would still contact the provider on every page load, and we would rather nothing left your browser before you had agreed.

If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to count page views, see how visitors arrive, and record basic interaction events such as scroll depth, outbound link clicks and file downloads. Advertising features, Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled on the property, and IP addresses are anonymised. We do not use the data to identify individuals and we do not combine it with anything else. There are no forms on this site, so nothing you type is collected.

If you decline, the choice is recorded in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again. That entry is the only thing stored, it stays on your device, and it is not sent anywhere.

Where analytics is in use, a banner asks before anything loads and Cookie settings appears in the footer of every page so you can change your mind at any time. You can also simply clear this site's data in your browser.

What we do not do

  • No advertising cookies, remarketing tags or conversion pixels.
  • No cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or session recording.
  • No social media embeds that load third-party trackers.
  • No selling or sharing of data with third parties for their own purposes.
  • No newsletter sign-up, and no mailing list you have to escape from.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web server access logs — your IP address, the requested page, timestamp, response code, referrer and user agent. This site is served directly from the origin rather than through a proxy, so the address recorded is yours. These logs exist to operate and secure the site, are rotated on the provider's schedule, and are not used to build any profile of visitors or combined with analytics data. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and defending it against attack.

Third parties this site relies on

  • Hetzner Online GmbH — web hosting for this site.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — authoritative DNS for the domain.
  • Google Analytics — only after you accept analytics cookies.

Where a provider processes personal data on our behalf they do so under a written data processing agreement. Transfers outside the UK rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision, as applicable.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, ask us to restrict processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Withdrawing analytics consent takes one click in the footer and does not affect anything done before.

Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you gave us the chance to put it right first.

Changes to this notice

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and, where the change affects what you consented to, ask you again rather than relying on a decision you made about something else.
